1741 starb Admiral Vitus Bering auf dieser Insel. Mitglied der Mannschaft war der deutsche Biologe Steller. Nach der Erkundung der amerikanischen Westküste erforschte Steller die Natur dieser Insel.

Ihm zu Ehren wurde die höchste Erhebung der Insel "Pik Steller" genannt.

Und wir waren auf der Spitze dieses Berges - 250 Jahre nach Steller.

An der Nordwestküste der Bering-Insel leben Millionen von Seelöwen.

In der Sommerzeit kommen sie aus dem arktischen Meer und bekommen hier ihren Nachwuchs.

In 1741 admiral Vitus Bering was dead of this island. The german biolog Steller was a member of the crew.

After the trip to the american westcost he worked at this island and made a content of nature of the island.

In memory of his work the highest hill of the island was named „Pik Steller“.

And we were on the top of this hill, 250 years after Steller.

It was great.

At the north-west coast of Bering-island live millions of sealions.

In the summertime they come from the arctic sea and here they have the children.
